Increasing and improving the programmatic, policy and funding actions taken on HIV prevention for girls and young women.
This Alliance Programme will:
Conceptualise and develop a multi-faceted, interactive learning tool, targeted at primary school girls, aimed at increasing awareness and uptake of her sexual and
reproductive health & rights, existing & potential HIV Prevention methods, gender based violence and economic agency. The programme will be designed by
a team of representative girls and young women, activists, educators, sexologists & micro finance agencies and piloted in South Africa and one other African
country with the political support of local and National Government.
Further develop, align and produce a toolkit for community based Social Marketing of Female Condom Ambassadors that is grounded in HIV Prevention Literacy
Training but also recognises that the Female Condom is the only existing female initiated HIV prevention tool and forms part of a basket of HIV Prevention tools
that are equally important in the fight to end the epidemic.
Procure, distribute and socially marken Female Condoms to community based organisations who request them. This intervention will be implemented on a requisition
basis and will include the provision of HIV Prevention Literacy Training and comprehensive logistical support.
Produce Quarterly region review papers that articulate up to date best practises as well as challenges in the area of HIV Prevention for Girls & Young Women
located in the broader context of SRHR. These regional reports will cover three African countries per quarter and be incorporated into the Alliances quarterly
