Vivienne provides coordination, partnership and contextual support to the Alliance’s portfolio of COVID 19 interventions. She has an extensive background in communications, public relations and multimedia projects. She has successfully supported projects and programmes primarily focused on HIV prevention, maternal new-born health, prevention and management of STIs, promotion of sexual health, prevention and management of gender-based violence and human rights. With over 18 years’ experience in both the public and private sector regionally and globally, Vivienne is a keen traveller and counts Mombasa, Joburg and Durban amongst her favourite African cities.

One of Vivienne’s proudest moments has been the conceptualisation and successful execution of Women NOW! 2016 – the first Pan African Women’s Summit on Sexual and Reproductive Justice (SRJ) and HIV. The need for the Summit was inspired by a network of Black women and allies working across the HIV and SRHR response in Africa, Europe, and North America to consider the institutional and social drivers that destabilise Black women and girls’ sexual and reproductive health (SRH). Vivienne led a team that mobilised a network of leading women across the HIV response that resulted in more than 200 delegates from eighteen countries coming together in Durban, South Africa with more than 100 scholarships awarded to young women who were actively engaged in the programme design and facilitation. Vivienne is excited about bringing this level of energy, insight and planning to the work of the Alliance.

Vivienne is passionate about speaking truth to power no matter how difficult it is and working with integrity.
