What We Found
Strong policy foundations already exist
Zimbabwe has one of the strongest policy environments for FC2 within the region, with established procurement systems and broad stakeholder recognition.
Visibility remains inconsistent
Despite supportive policies, promotion of FC2 remains substantially lower than for male condoms, limiting public awareness and routine demand.
Funding pressures threaten sustainability
Stakeholders reported that donor funding uncertainty has disrupted outreach, training and community mobilisation activities.
Community organisations continue to lead
Civil society remains central to education, demand creation and distribution, particularly among priority populations.
Summary
Zimbabwe possesses many of the institutional foundations required for successful FC2 programming. Future progress depends less on creating new systems than on strengthening implementation, financing and visibility.
