The project in Liberia demonstrated efforts to promote prosperity, reduce extreme poverty, increase economic opportunities, and sustain natural resources. With a laser focus on the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the project aims to tackle issues related to limited accountability, transparency, and public information access. Working in collaboration with the National Public Health Institute of Liberia and the Ministry of Health, the project endeavours to make critical information about COVID-19 vaccines, tests, and treatment facilities accessible nationally.

  2. Empower marginalized women and youth to advocate for fairness in distributing vital resources.
  3. Make public service information about COVID-19 readily available.

  • Community Dialogues: Volunteers for Sustainable Development in Africa played a pivotal role in orchestrating community dialogues tailored to address the COVID-19 challenges marginalized women and youth face in Liberia.

 

Linking Authorities and Community: The platform created by the volunteers became a crucial link between health authorities and the community, fostering an environment that promoted transparency and accountability in the COVID-19 response.

Notable Success: The initiative significantly deepened community members’ understanding of COVID-19. Moreover, it empowered them to advocate for fairness in distributing crucial resources like vaccines, tests, and treatments. The success of this project was highlighted by its impact on live radio shows, where over 1000 participants actively engaged with health authorities.
